Metfone wins World communication award 2011
On Monday 7th November, 2011 Metfone won the “Best operator in a developing market” award at the World Communication Awards 2011 ceremony held in London.
The award “Best operator in a Developing Market” is awarded to operators with innovative and unique solutions that help them to overcome a developing market characteristic to create values to the society, community, customers and operator’s business.
Metfone's efforts to adapt to the specific characteristics of Cambodian market impressed the judging panel. Launched in 2009, Metfone currently is the largest telecom provider with 48% market share and over 7 million subscribers among 8 operators in Cambodia.
In 2010, Metfone also was selected by Frost and Sullivan to grant “the Most Promising Provider of the Year” award in 2010 for the aforesaid great efforts.
